What do I do if my child is late to school?
Please take your child to the main office and sign them in on the Entrysign system and inform a member of the office team. Your child can then go to class.
- What do I do if I am going to be late in collecting my child?
There are times when parents are late collecting their child from school, if this is going to happen we ask that school is informed and the expected delay is given. If a child is not collected and no reason is given they will go to the Atlas out of school club and be charged in accordance with their charging policy. If a child is still not collected, Children’s Social Care will be contacted.
- Can I send someone else to pick up my child?
If you need someone else to come to school to collect your children please speak to the class teacher in the morning or leave a message with a member of the office staff.

School Meals are charged at £2.54 per day for KS2 pupils (Y3-Y6) - Payment top ups can be made at ParentPay at the following link https://www.parentpay.com/

Who do I contact to claim Free School Meals?
For every child that is entitled to free school meals the school receives extra funding to enhance provision and improve progress and outcomes for children. So please apply even if you do not wish to take up your free school meal.
What are the qualifying criteria for Free School Meals?
Your child might be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:
- Income Support
- income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
- Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
- Universal Credit - your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
Children who get paid these benefits directly, instead of through a parent or guardian, can also get free school meals.

- What is Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM)?
Universal infant free school meals (UIFSM) provides funding for all government funded schools to offer free school meals to ALL pupils in reception, year 1, and year 2. From Year 3 onwards Pupil lunchs are chargeable at £2.54 per lunch.
- What should I put in my child's packed lunch?
We encourage children to bring a healthy lunch to school which could include items such as fruit, vegetables, pasta or rice salads, yoghurts. We ask that children DO NOT bring nuts, or any nut based products to school as some children in school have a life threatening nut allergy. Hot drinks and soup is not permitted.
- Is Drinking Water available in school?
Children have access to drinking water in school. Please can children bring in a named water bottle which can be re-filled during the day. No glass bottles please.

Can my child wear jewellery in school?
We ask that pupils do not wear jewellery in school. Small stud earrings can be worn but these must be removed or covered by pupils on PE days.

What do I do if my child is prescribed medication?
If your child needs to have medication at school you must complete a form at the school office. We ask that medication at school is kept to a minimum and if antibiotics are prescribed for less than four times a day we suggest this can be organised out of school time. All medication held on school premises is kept secure.
- How long before my child can return to school after an illness?
We ask that children remain at home until they are well enough to return to school. Sickness and stomach bugs – we ask that children remain at home for 48hours to ensure that infections do not spread.

What do I do if I need to see a teacher?
Please contact the school office and an appointment can be made with the class teacher. Alternatively, you can catch your child's class teacher at morning drop off or afternoon collection time.
- What should I do if I am worried about my child's progress?
If you have any concerns about your child’s progress we ask that you arrange an appointment to talk to your child’s class teacher. This can be arranged via the school office.
- Where do I go to locate lost property?
Lost property is located in the plastic tubs to the right of the main school entrance to the office. Staff will try to return named items to the children. Lost property is kept for a reasonable period of time after which it will be disposed of appropriately.
