School Trips
As part of our enriched and engaging curriculum children in all year groups take part in a wide range of educational trips and visits. These carefully chosen experiences help to make learning meaningful and brings our curriculum to life as they make real world connections to their learning.
Year 5 Black Country Living Museum
During our visit to Black Country Living Museum, we stepped back in time to experience life during the Industrial Revolution. We explored the underground mines, walked through the historic boatyard and watched an exciting forge demonstration where metal was shaped using fire and tools. The children enjoyed taking part in a pewter casting activity and learning how objects were made in the past. One of the highlights of the day was experiencing a strict Victorian school lesson and watching a classic black and white Disney movie in the old-fashioned cinema. It was a fantastic day filled with hands-on learning, history and fun!

Year 2 Cotswold Wildlife Park
Year 2 went to Cotswold Wildlife Park to look at animals for their descriptive writing that they are writing next term. They saw a huge range of animals including giraffes, poison dart frogs and tiny baby birds, went on the train and saw a baby rhino up close! We were also very lucky to be joined by a peacock while we were eating lunch who came very close and wandered around us all.

I enjoyed the train and the coach.
I enjoyed seeing the massive anaconda because it was really big.
I liked seeing the giraffes because they’re calm animals.
I liked seeing the baby mongoose.
My favourite part was seeing the lion because it was so fierce.
Year 2 Hawkwood Farm
We visited Hawkwood Farm to enhance our learning about plants and the conditions different plants need to grow. We enjoyed sampling the broccoli and kale that was being grown there and we planted our own peas. We visited the farm animals and created some art work using natural materials that we found there.

I liked doing the Art work with the plants and flowers
I liked tasting the fresh spring water.

I liked seeing the pigs!
I liked tasting the curly kale.
Year 6 Young Voices
Year 6 had a fantastic time at the Young Voices concert this year. After months of rehearsals they sang and danced the night away with a choir made up of schools across the country. All of the staff that went with them were so proud of how they represented the school and the incredible teamwork on display throughout the day.

My favourite part was the hip-hop dance. Urban Strides were amazing!
It was so much fun. Even better than residential!
There were so many people there. I loved the singing and the dancing and the shouting!
We had a great time. I loved the lights, they looked like stars. I had no idea how big it would be.
Year 5 The Story Museum
The Story Museum in Oxford. It was a truly magical experience. The children explored the museum, getting lost in various worlds, full of their favourite characters. They even had a chance to enter the magical wardrobe for a glimpse of Narnia. We got to hear the whispering trees and wrote and performed the Loki stories. The trip truly brought stories to life and inspired many thoughtful conversations back in school.

Year 1 Stroud Book Festival
In November our Year 1 class had a wonderful time visiting the Stroud Book Festival to see the author and illustrator Jarvis. The children were full of excitement as they listened carefully to Jarvis sharing his stories, characters and ideas behind his books. They loved hearing how stories can begin from simple thoughts, pictures and imagination, which inspired lots of curiosity and thoughtful questions.
One of the highlights of the visit was taking part in a live drawing session. The children watched closely as Jarvis drew step by step, showing them how characters can be created using simple shapes and lines. Many children were keen to join in, practising their own drawings and feeling proud of what they produced.

I read them with my mum at night and I even heard him read them!
We saw a real author!
