Rodborough Community Primary School

125 Year Anniversary

Rodborough Community Primary School is celebrating it's 125 year anniversary through various events and curriculum enrichment throughout 2026. The school first opened at it's current site on the 28th February 1901. It opened it's doors to the very first pupils on 4th March 1901.

Today's pupils will be discussing similarities, differences and areas that have remained the same in the school. We will be talking about what the school day might have looked and felt like for them 125 years ago. Children and their families will also be thinking about the future of our school, and what changes might take place over the next 125 years.

Linked to being a Rights Respecting School, children have also been talking about what rights children would have had back then.

We have been working in collaboration with local history group Remembering Rodborough to put together a display celebrating the history of the school and it's place at the centre of our unique community.

It has also come to light that there is a time capsule buried on the school site. If there are any former pupils who know of it's exact location, please get in touch as we would love to find this buried treasure and examine the contents with our current pupils.

You can read more about the history of Rodborough Community Primary School on our school history page.

We would love to hear from any past pupils, staff and parents of Rodborough Community Primary School.  Please contact memories@rodborough.gloucs.sch.uk to share your stories and memories of the school.
