Rodborough Community Primary School

Religious Education

At our school, Religious Education is a vibrant, thought-provoking and deeply meaningful subject where children explore big ideas about life, belief and identity. We are excited to launch our refreshed curriculum in September 2026, bringing learning to life through a rich Religion and Worldviews approach.

Our curriculum invites children to explore Christianity alongside a diverse range of religious and non-religious worldviews, including Hinduism, Islam and Humanism. Through carefully sequenced enquiry questions, pupils don’t just learn what people believe, but how and why those beliefs shape lives, communities and choices. From discovering what Christians believe God is like, to exploring life in a Hindu or Muslim home, children engage with real stories, lived experiences and meaningful reflection.

Using a range of ‘ways of knowing’ - including storytelling, discussion, observation and enquiry - pupils think like theologians, philosophers and social scientists. They ask big questions, develop respectful dialogue and begin to understand their own developing worldview.

RE at our school is about curiosity, empathy and understanding. It equips children with the knowledge and skills to navigate an increasingly diverse world, helping them to flourish as thoughtful, respectful and reflective individuals.
