Our French learning is based on the CGP French Scheme and resources, which help us to learn French in a fun and interactive way.
The scheme of work covers six units on different topics per year. The level of French gets progressively harder, incorporating phonics and the relevant grammar throughout our journey. Each unit helps students develop their Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills every week. Each unit contains a song, new vocabulary, question and answer examples and games such as Find it, Spell it and True or false to consolidate our learning. There are also written tasks every week and a story at the end of the unit, which uses the vocabulary and sentence structure we have learned to tell a story around the topic. Rote learning is not required just a ‘have a go’ spirit and some joie de vivre!
