Rodborough Community Primary School

Extra Curricular Sports

As an addition to our PE curriculum, children at Rodborough have access to a wide range of extra curricular sports. As a school we send teams to various inter school events including cross country running, hockey, football and tag rugby. Rodborough children attend a range of noncompetitive sports festivals giving children of all abilities the opportunity to take part in dodgeball, curling, orienteering, football and many other multi sport activities. Our after school clubs provide further opportunities for children with different sport running throughout the year including football, cross country running and  cricket.

KS1 Multi-Skills Atlas Festival

10 children from Year 2 attended a multi-skills event at Archway School run by Atlas.

The best bit was when you could kick or hit the ball to each other.

My favourite bit was when we were holding the parachute.

I liked when we had to shoot the balls through hoops.

Rugby tournament

On a crispy, cold and icy morning, Y5 and Y6 enjoyed taking part in a rugby tournament against several local schools in Painswick. The children showed fantastic teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the event. We are incredibly proud of their effort and resilience, and we were thrilled to finish in second place.

It was a challenging competition. All the teams played so well.

I loved representing our school and getting in the second place!

It was cold and crispy morning and perfect for sliding around playing rugby.

I loved playing as a team!

Dodgeball

On 10th June Year 2 went to a dodgeball tournament where we had to play lots of games against teams from a large number of local schools. We had to show determination, perseverance and teamwork as we worked together to score as many points as we could. Great sportsmanship was demonstrated throughout the day and we shook hands with the opponents at the end of each match and congratulated them on playing well.

The dodgeball was so much fun. I loved being able to play with so many other schools.

We really enjoyed working as a team and celebrating each other’s successes.
